Reflection

What???

We went to the public library two times from last Tuesday and Today. We came to make conversation with people about our country. Last Tuesday I was with Fahad and a man from New Jerzy and today I was with Fahad and Abdul and three members from the library. Today first we start with Abdul presentation about Qatar then it was my turn to talk about Kuwait and After me was Fahad presentation about Saudia.

So what??

At the first time I was afraid that There will be a huge number of people will come because it is a public library but then I was comfort because they were just a few people. Last Tuesday I met with a man from New Jerzy. He had a little information about Kuwait and Arab culture because he had some friends lived in Arabic country. We talked about the climate, geography, food, ceremonies, tourism, arts, and body language. Today it was also a similar we talked about the same things we talked about before. But Today we met with a teacher. she doesn’t had many idea about our country but she was cruise to know and that was interesting then we met with the manager of the library. She was so nice and we got a great chance to talked with her. The last one he was a man I thought he is a military draft. He was lived in Kuwait and the last time for him to visit Kuwait was since 1995 but he still remember many parts and places of Kuwait. Actually He was also visited Saudi arabia and he know many things about arabic culture so it was so easy to communicate with him. We just make like a review with him about what is the newer buildings and other things like that because he was already know many things about arabic.  Also He speak Arabic a little bit and that was so good because it was so long time and he still remember so words as grateful, how to say hi in arabic, asking how are you doing, congratulate, what is your name and other things.

Now what???

Public library was so different about what I thought before. I thought it will be difficult for us to do but actually it was the opposite thing. I was so interesting when I done my presentation with people from public library. They were so friendly, opened, and curise to know about other cultures. So I could evaluate  a public library as a good place to go.

” The capital ” Reflection

What?

Today we went to the capital building. It  located in the Downtown. We got a bus to go there. At the first time, the leader guide us to see a little sample of plan building. But actually we had a chance just to visit a Delegates House. before we went to the Delegates house. The leader define the place for us. He said that the capital building is a museum, take place for arguments, and politics place. He shows us statues which is describe  presidents of the United State and talked about the short  history of them. Then, we went to the small room. He talked about the history of the United State and the war. He defined some pictures about a historian people. They were popular in the past. After that guide left us and we met with a woman I forget her name whose took us to the Delegates house.  At the end, we went to the Delegates house and discuss about the health care arguments. There were a clerk who was Anoud, a speaker who was Michelle, and the classmate and me we were a Delegates.

So what???

I learned about the history of the United States, which was a great experience for me. I learned that there were eight presidents in the United States. I got history information about 3 or 4 of them. I got information about a building design how was look before and now. The leader also said they design the building by a manner that perseveres the building form a disasters. As when was the earthquake the building were saved at that time and never effects. Also we learned that there are many different schools and colleges join the building for tour. There are some students were owners. After the historian information about several things we got from the guide, we went to the delegates house with a woman whose learned us about the the clerk, speaker, and the delegates and what their jobs. Also she said that they take a sit depend on their ages and experience. She said that the first sits for young delegates and last one for who had more experiences. Then we discuss about the arguments and we done a good job. Everyone had a chance to talk about the problem of the health insurance and discuss if he were against or not and why. At the end we voted for this debates and the other team won and we lost.

Now what???

I thought we got a good chance to visited the capital building. I never went there and I liked the place. I had interesting to know about the history of the United States and about the presidents. The building were  nice too and remind us for the past. It was look really old like about the design, devices and furniture were old style but it were nice. If I have a chance, I would like to go there other time.

Reflection (Shahad)

What:

The last two Tuesday we went to the american class students. We make conversion between my partners and I  we were discussed about several subjects. As the insurance Health care, Gay and Lesbains, School, Universal insurance and comparing about our countries.

So What?

The first Tuseday conversion between my group was very nice. It was easy to me to understand what they talked about. we iscessed many subject and i had been awaring for the conversion.Thay were talking everything step by step. Everyone had a chance to talked and heard his opinion. The time cut off and we still didn’t finished our gap because  it was very nice to know about other culture. They were very eager to talked and that was very good. But yesterday, it was very confuse conversion. The students talked with each other and  i had been lost what they talked about. They were short explaision so it was could hard to me to understand eveything.

Now What?

It is really a great opporunity to communicate with american students. Thats so helpful to improve our English Language. I feel myself better speaking. The academic       Students were participated  with  us and that were helpful. I thought they do a good job. In addition, I thought those kind of conversion, it’s much help advance Students.
